New Audi TT RS debuted at Geneva Auto Show 2009 and initially the car has been launched in eight elegant colors .The new TT- RS is integrated with a compact powerful engine that provides a very high speed and high fuel efficiency in comparison to roadsters and makes use of Quattro and turbochargers technologies to offer high efficiency.
Audi TT RS was launched at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show in eight colors: pearl effect; Daytona Gray, Mugello Blue; Sepang Blue, Suzuka Gray and metallic. Four options are available in the black and dark gray colors. The stylish high speed car has amazing interiors of Alcantara design and it is priced in the range of £42,980 OTR to £44,880 OTR. The powerful driving machine, Audi TT RS has 340 hp and an imposing torque of 332 ft-lbs. The new Audi TT RS is a driver’s ultimate dream car as it has a new compact cylinder of just 49 centimeters having a weight of 183 kilograms and it offers a very high speed.
Audi TT RS engine is small, light weight and strong .The cylinder head, pistons and connecting rods are light weight and robust. The 5-cylinder engine has a capacity 2.5-liter and it offers a high fuel efficiency of average 9.2 liters/100 km whereas roadsters, in common, have a fuel efficiency of 9.5 l/100 km. TT RS has FSI direct gasoline injection and it uses the formulae of Quattro and turbochargers to get maximum efficiency.
The turbochargers are large and boast a pressure up to 1.2 bars. The intercooler system reduces temperatures by at least 80% at full load and the compression ratio is 10.0: 1 that is very high for an engine having turbochargers. The adjustable camshaft enhances charging efficiency with regards to air fuel mixture.
The Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system is exclusive having a quick pick up as the car goes from zero to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds. The official figures for top speed is 250 km/h as there are limits imposed on high speeds but the top speed of TT RS is 280 km/h. Maximum torque is 450 Nm at 1,600 to 5,300 rpm.
High speed Audi TT RS has steady grip on road and its curb weight is 3,197 pounds. The power to weight ratio of the vehicle is just 4.3 kg per bhp .The aluminum body frame structure and steel hybrid TT body shell lowers the overall bodyweight of the vehicle. The most striking feature of TT-RS is its new suspension with stiffer springs and fast reacting shocks. Wheels of TT-RS are wide 245/45/18 on all the four corners and an optional wheel of 19 to 20 inch is also provided by the company. To provide a fine stability front brake calipers measuring 14.6 inches and rear break calipers of 12.2 inches is attached to the roadster.
