In "The Interview With God" (http://www.theinterviewwithgod.com),
which is so popular right now, God is represented as saying He's
surprised that His children spend their lives working so hard
that they LOSE their health, then at the end of their lives, LOSE
their money trying to regain their health! It's a very good
video presentation...hope you'll look at it.
If you search the internet for sites related to health, you'll
find over 600 million uses of that word! It's a very difficult
word for people to use as a keyword on their websites. We have
to narrow down the meaning of health.
Let's think of our health issues from three different directions:
physical, emotional, and spiritual.
The problem is we are very, very complicated people and the
universe we live in is terrifically complicated too. It's a
little presumptuous for us to even think of categorizing our
health issues! But we try.
Our good health is dependent upon how we think, but not just how
we think about ourselves. No, our good health depends upon how
we think about everything in our lives... about our family
members and our friends and all the fun things we do together,
about the scary news on tv and visions of dead bodies, about our
work schedules that go on and on and on, about each argument we
have with someone else... the list is unending, of course.
Why do our bodily responses match our thoughts? Well, let's
think about it. Why do you break out in a cold (even stinky)
sweat when you get particularly nervous? Why do you shake when
you're fearful? Why do you laugh spontaneously when you think
about something funny? Why do you get a stomach ache when you're
worried? Your body is definitely tied to your thoughts. Some
people claim all physical ailments start in the invisible realm,
somewhere in our thoughts. What do you think?
Do you think physical ill health can be blamed on one source of
trouble? One cause for one effect?
I strongly believe there is a network of causes, all influenced
by our thoughts. For instance, I can't believe that your
sleeping disorders have only a chemical cause. What about your
hypothalamus responding to your spiritual and emotional state?
What caused you to be uneasy? Were you a fearful child? When
you have problems in your mind, your hypothalamus is going to
respond to what you are thinking about.
What causes a migraine? Diet? I used to think sugar was the
only cause of my migraine headaches (which I no longer have
problems with!) But come to find out, migraines are rooted in
guilt. Yes, people who have migraines feel guilty about being in
conflict with others. This conflict can be real OR imagined.
After the guilt feelings comes fear and again, a physical problem
is caused by our thoughts. Our hypothalamus gland senses the
conflict within and the pineal gland is caused to slow down the
secretion level of serotonin. The conflict develops in the realm
of the soul and spirit, then fear begins to have its affect.
Anxiety causes histamine to be over-secreted in the cranial
region. As the serotonin levels are decreased and histamine is
increased, the blood vessels swell up, putting pressure on
sensitive nerves...and a migraine is manifested. This is
terribly painful and terribly complicated when you consider the
myriad of thoughts that went before the headache. (See A More
Excellent Way by Pastor Henry Wright to study more about the
spiritual beginnings of ill health.)
How can we ever properly diagnose a physical ailment?
I don't believe we can know all the specific causes and effects
that bring us down. Only God can trace the beginnings. Our
hearts and minds are very foot-tracked.
If you can't diagnose a health problem perfectly, how then can
you correct it? Correct it from ALL sides, not just expecting
one cause:one effect:one cure. I recommend you make drastic
changes in diet and sleep patterns and even thought patterns.
You have to stop doing what is hurting you in order to change and
begin to practice good health habits. Get more sleep, pamper
yourself with fresh air and pure water. Eat better and use
supplements (see http://www.essentialimmunehealth.com) and energy
patches (see http://www.lifewave.com/dianne) that will build your
body up. But, above all, cultivate your invisible connection to
your Maker. The invisible realm is incredibly important.
Take steps to preserve your precious self.
Study the human body and soul and spirit as much as you can.
Learn how complicated a being you are and take steps to preserve
your precious self. If YOU don't, WHO will? Ignorance is costly
and THAT is proven by this lady who thinks she can diet
successfully with diet sodas! (See photo at
