Over the past year and half many people have seen their savings and investments dwindle to a almost scary low. With the market today a person has to be wiser, be a intelligent investor. How do we become a intelligent investor? HOMEWORK... What do I mean by homework? There are hundreds of places on the internet or in your local library to get information about investing. You can't rely on business news. Business news, political news, and just about every other type of news can move the market today. The news doesn't give you the fundamentals of stocks or the oil markets or mutual funds. The news will give you a short burst of energy in the response to business news and all the other news you can hear or read about. Do the homework. Search out all the information you can. That is what will make you a intelligent investor. You will have to do a little trial and error to find what works and what doesn't. One thing I have found is the more common the idea the more likely something is true. What I mean is if you have 10 articles telling you to look at earnings of a stock and one person telling you to look at its history, you should probably be looking at the earnings. If you want to be a intelligent investor, have more money in the long run, do the homework. The stocks that have fared the best over the last year and a half are the companies that were the strongest going in. In the market today any stock that has lost anything less than 15% is doing pretty good. These are the stocks that are the strongest. These same stocks are going to come out of this recession stronger than ever. Every day the business news is talking about this company or that company going under. Who takes up there share of the market? That's right the strong companies. Get the business paper, see what companies are doing the best right now chances are those will be our next Pepsi's and Microsoft's. Do the home work and GOOD LUCK!!!
