The Freedom of Satellite Internet

Imagine the freedom of having access to the internet anywhere your motor home can take you, or being able to read your email from a rural cabin in Alaska. Through satellite internet technology, everyone can access the internet from virtually all areas of the United States. With available internet access throughout the country, more people are able to work from home or on the road.

It is estimated that at least 16.5 million workers in the United States telecommute at least one day a month with more than half of these workers telecommuting almost once a week. These numbers are growing each year as corporations discover the cost benefits of employing persons from their own homes. These cost benefits include less office space and utilities, more productivity, and inexpensive communication through competitive Voip carriers.

Telecommuting

Currently, the majority of telecommuters are individuals who are very experienced in their area of expertise. They have demonstrated dependability and performance for their employers which has created the opportunity to work from home. On average, telecommuters are a little older, well educated, and paid more than traditional office workers.

Most telecommuter's personal offices contain all of the needed equipment: laptop, cell phone, fax machine, and internet access. With decreasing purchase prices for computer and wireless equipment, it is expected that more companies will encourage telecommuting. In fact, 49% of people who work from home pay for their own equipment, which is another cost-saving bonus for business executives.

At the Campsite

While new internet technology has increased the ability to work from home, satellite technology has made it possible to surf the web from almost any location. Satellites have gained huge popularity within the RV world. RV owners are now able to bring the internet into their camping locations.

Imagine spending the whole day out on the lake and returning tired to your motor home. The night is still young, but with the mosquitoes outside, you're unwilling to sit next to the campfire. Instead, with your RV internet access, you decide to download a video and watch it with your loved ones. In addition, imagine being able to respond to email, check the stock market, and even reserve the next camping spot all while enjoying America's finest campgrounds.

Out in the Country

Many rural homeowners have also enjoyed the benefits provided through satellite internet. With the internet providing capabilities for television and phone, these homeowners are able to remain connected in case of emergencies and difficulties. This is especially beneficial as satellite coverage is far greater then cell phone coverage. With satellite internet prices dropping, many experts predict that more homeowners will be installing a satellite dish to their roof to grab hold of reliable, inexpensive internet access.
