The First Step To A Successful Home Business…..Avoid The Scams!

With literally millions of people seeking productive and meaningful ways
to start and build successful home based businesses it's no wonder there are
so many scams out there both in the real world as well as on the internet.
Just waiting to take advantage of trusting individuals and skimming easy
money from them.

Some estimate that as high as 99% of the home based business opportunities
available are scams and not worth your time or energy and certainly not your
money.

Even with all the get rich quick scams out there, it is crucial to be aware that
thousands upon thousands of successful home businesses are being started
every day so don't give up on your dream…..just be cautious and take your
time to carefully research the opportunity you have an interest in.

With that in mind I have put together this quick list of ways you can check
out a home business opportunity before you choose to get involved so you
can feel much more confident that you're not wasting precious resources
on just another scam.

Get Rich Quick

Get Real! Just use a little common sense and realize that no one is going to sell
you a magic button or an instant ticket to riches. Why should they? Anytime
an opportunity presents itself and promises or guarantees that you'll make
thousands of dollars, simply run the other way.

There is simply no way you can be guaranteed to make anything at all with
any given opportunity.

Check Them Out With The Better Business Bureau

Take the time to check out the opportunity you're looking at with the Better
Business Bureau. That is the BBB in their city. You can use this link to do a
quick search to find that info http://search.bbb.org/search.html .

Please note that if the opportunity you're researching is not a member of the
BBB there may not be any information available on them.

Take The Time To Check Their Contact Info

If all they list is a P.O. Box you can be pretty sure they don't really have
anything worth your time.

On the other hand if they do offer full contact information and welcome your
questions then feel free to ask them about your concerns. Find out things
like how long they have been in business, how many clients they have, what
types of support they have available, as well as what their refund policy is,
and how long it takes to process your pay, etc. Always ask that they
provide the answers to you in writing.

Additionally, you should ask them to provide at least three client references
so you can call them directly to ask about their personal experiences with that
specific company.

Research The Opportunity On The Internet

There are several ways to quickly accomplish this. The first recommended
way is to simply type their name in the Google search bar by enclosing it in
quotes and then checking out what comes up.

You can also go to sites that specialize in fighting home business opportunity
scams like http://www.scambusters.com.

Avoid Being Pressured Into Signing Up For Any Business Opportunity

Any worthwhile legitimate home business opportunity will be available for awhile.
So never give in to feeling pressured to sign up right now out of fear of losing out.

Never Pay With Cash

Once you have fully checked out an opportunity to your satisfaction and have
decided to join the program, it is strongly advised that you pay any initial fees
with a credit card rather than with cash or a check. That way if something serious
has slipped through your scam screening process you'll have more leverage to get
your money back by disputing the charges to your credit card.
