2009 Louis Vuitton Steven Sprouse collection

At the beginning of 21 century, the cooperation between Marc Jacobs and Stephen Sprouse ( Note：Stephen Sprouse (1953-2004) was one of the most influential fashion designers of his time and a key figure in the dynamic mix of punk rock, wild style graffiti, and street influenced fashion that characterized the downtown New York community in the early 1980s.) gave birth to brand-new Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2001 collection which changed the Louis Vuitton brand forever and open the it-bag era. Sprouse’s scrawled graffitti was imitated by everyone from Stuart Weitzman to Gwen Stefani, a crazy fan of Rolex watches.


In 2009, four years after Steven Sprouse's death, Marc Jacobs paid tribute to his friend by launching a new line of Sprouse bags. Jacobs is nude in the ad campaign for the new bags, displaying his body covered in nothing but Sprouse-like graffitti. These bags are a tremendous success all over the world and win hearts of countless fashion lovers including those celebrities in entertainment circles.

The 2009 Louis Vuitton Steven Sprouse collection features not only the famous fuschia graffitti from a 1987 Sprouse design but also the abstract roses from a mid-1970s design. To Fully display Stephen Sprouse's signature punk style, these two designs are printed on traditional Manogram canvas in fluorescent powder, green or orange. In this way , the iconic Kespall traveling bag , Speedy and Neverfull handbag present strikingly brand-new style.
