Your site’s web design could make or break it. Web design is defined by Wikipedia as the skill of designing presentations of content that is delivered to an end-user through the World Wide Web, by way of a web browser. According to an Orange County Web Design company, how well your site is designed could determine how often visitors would be coming back to your site. There are times when changing a single aspect of your site’s design could spell higher traffic.

However, the Orange County Web Design company also states that bad design could make your site forgettable. Many Orange County Web Design companies have noted several common web design mistakes. It would be good to take note of them as well and to steer clear of them.

* Bad Titles. Whether it’s an untitled page, the same title for several pages, or very common titles, they are all mistakes in designing a web design. A title of a page of a site should be specific and unique. Also, titles of your page should be search engine friendly.

* Bad Colors. Nobody wants to look at a page that has several combinations of colors. Limit the colors you will use to two to three colors. Also, make sure that links in your site’s content uses a different color from the regular text.
* Bad Fonts. Again, nobody wants to look at a page that uses almost all fonts available. Also, make sure your fonts are clearly readable and appropriate for the mood of your site. Avoiding capitalizing all texts because it gives the impression of shouting.
* Bad Navigation. Make sure that if you put something there for your visitors to click, it is clickable and will take them to a page it’s supposed to show. Having poor navigation in your site is like giving wrong directions to your visitors. You’d want them to get to the information they are after.

* Bad Layout. The overall look of your site could set the whole tone. Make sure that every element of your page is properly laid out. Create enough white space between your text and images. Don’t overlap text and images.
