I am a Cowdenbeath supporter - a Blue Brazilian through and through! I have been supporting my wee team for over five years now. I watched them get promoted from the Scottish third division in my first year of supporting them, only to see them go back down a couple of seasons later. It has been a roller-coaster few year at Cowdenbeath FC, and unfortunately I didn't live very close so wasn't able to see many games; but now I'm living in Edinburgh I get to see my team play every couple of weeks.
Now things are different! Now the mighty Blue Brazil have the mighty Mixu Paatelainen as manager. Mixu is a Finnish football player that played at a lot of British clubs, including the Scottish clubs of Aberdeen, Hibs, St. Mirren and St. Johnstone. Mixu isn't the only Paatelainen at Cowdenbeath. Mixu's brother Markus was brought in by Mixu as the Coos main striker in September 2005. His time at Cowdenbeath has been a success, and in January 2006 he was teamed up with his other brother Mikko. The trio of Paatelainen gelled together successfully to help Cowden lift the third division trophy.
And the coos haven't stopped there - a good start to the season has seen them in clear second spot after seven games. I have been to see the coos play four times this season, and I have been impressed with their form, and I am confident that we can make it into the first division. Once we make it into the first division we are only a small step from the top flight.
Now I'm not saying we're gonna take over the world in the next couple of years, but I think we will get into the first division next year, and with some hard work from the team, management and directorship I think within the next four or five years we can make it into the SPL. I'm so confident that I'm gonna put a bet on it. I've had a look at the Unibet
Sports betting website, and expectedly it doesn't have that bet as an option, but I've contacted them asking for odds for Cowdenbeath to be in the top flight within five years. I'm gonna bet big; and you can watch this space in the near future and I'll tell you how much I won.
