If you have just been dying to liberate your western apparel from the closet prison it currently resides in, you might be wondering what the best ways to wear western apparel are. After all, anybody can don a pair of cowboy boots, but that doesn't mean that everyone has the same innate finesse required to put together an outfit combining different styles. Keep in mind that if you start small, you can gradually build up to including as much western wear as you like. The thing to avoid is just showing up for lunch one day in full western wear regalia. Here are a few examples of ways to begin incorporating western wear into your wardrobe:
* Cowboy boots with jeans- this is a classic western combination that you can wear in several ways. If you have tapered or slim fitting pants, by all means, tuck them into the boots. If, on the other hand, your pants are boot cut, wide-leg or flared, then wear them over the boots.
* Dresses and skirts with cowboy boots can work quite well. There are generally two different looks that work in these situations: a short skirt (think mid-thigh and cut close to the body) or a longer flowing skirt with a hemline below the knees. You can dress up or down such an outfit as much as you like.
* Boots with suits! Now, you should not wear your boots with a tuxedo or formal dress that isn't actually a western wear style outfit, but with a nicely cut suit, it is entirely appropriate to wear a pair of well-shined cowboy boots. Scuffed boots aren't an option for this particular outfit, as you need to make sure that your boots can live up to the expectations set by a suit (while still providing a stylishly surprising footwear option)
* Western wear stitching can adorn just about any item of clothing you could imagine- cowboy boots, belts, hats, skirts, pants, shirts, etc. Choose a few western apparel items adorned with elaborate embroidered designs and mix them in with some of your more tame wardrobe items so as to showcase them to their best.
* Wear your cowboy hat with jeans and other casual outfits. Don't wear your wildest shirt and then add a cowboy hat, rather, let the hat be the feature that brightens up your outfit. Similarly, a simple summer sundress will work well when paired with a pair of cowboy boots and a cowboy hat.
* Shine that buckle and show the world your love of western apparel- a western wear style belt is another great way to begin to bring a little more of a western flair to you usual wardrobe.
