There is great power in segmenting your list, and you can have your autoresponder do this for you if you set up your optin box or form correctly.

Here’s how to do it with KickStartCart (a private label of 1ShoppingCart), an integrated system that grows with your business. It includes an autoresponder system, product sales and automatic digital product delivery, as well as affiliate management..

Let’s say you want to have people who are opting in to a Special Offer added to that autoresponder (we’ll call it SO) as well as to your Main autoresponder (we’ll call it Main).

Log into your 1ShoppingCart (KickStart Cart) account. Go to Autoresponders. You will see a list of the autoresponders you have created there, as well as information about each.

Create your new special offer autoresponder (SO). Copy the html code for that optin box (form) to a text editor. Don’t use Word for this - it can mess up your code.

Now you need to go and get the Autoresponder ID from your main list (or whatever additional list you want your new subscribers to become a part of as well.) You can find the ID by clicking on the text link for your additional autoresponder in the column labeled ‘Autoresponder Name.’ Look for the number listed after ‘Autoresponder ID.’
Write down the additional Autoresponder ID number. Then double-check to make certain you copied it correctly.

OK, back to the optin box (form) code you copied into your text editor for your new autoresponder.

Find the row/line in the optin box (form) html that reads:

“input name equals (=) defaultar type”, etc… followed by a numeric value, say “123456” in our example. (Note that

This line may be a bit different depending upon the type of optin box you are creating. Just look for the one that resembles this one.

The value is the ID number for that specific autoresponder. It will be different for each autoresponder you create (and will most likely NOT be 123456.)

Delete the ‘default’ from both places it appears in the line. Where it once said “defaultar” it should now simply say “ar”. If there are other words in the text entries (such as “defaultmailingar” then after you remove ‘default’ it will read “mailingar”…).

Select this line and copy it. Now paste it directly below the first, so you have two identical lines, one below the other, within the html code for your optin box (form).
Delete the Autoresponder ID (value=) from the second of the two identical lines and replace it with the ID of the second autoresponder to which you want your subscribers to be added from this one optin box (form).

Copy the entire block of html code, from the beginning and paste it into your webpage to create your optin box.

You’ll want to test it, to be certain that people who subscribe using this optin box are added to both Autoresponder lists.

Congratulations! You have done it! Subscribers to your special offer are now added to your autoresponder for that offer as well as to your main list.
