Different types of instruments may be used for this purpose. In some cases liquid level tube can be used or sometimes a float device may indicate the height of the contents within the container. But the best method is to weigh the container and the contents. Large floor scales can be used for this purpose. These industrial scales are produced in a wide variety of different sizes. Digital scales provide the ability to transfer weight values into a computer system where they may be recorded for data analysis purposes.
A pallet is an ideal device for moving large quantities of industrial equipment. Standard size pallets are usually about 48” x 40”. These are made up of wood. If you see nowadays many pallets are being manufactured from plastic to provide excellent characteristics for re-use. They are designed so that they may be easily moved by using a common forklift. It is important to know the weight of the material on the pallet. A floor scale is ideal for this purpose. The most standard size for this type of device is 48” x 48”, but they are also available in smaller sizes and much larger sizes.
