Whenever there is something that people can't find in their local stores, they usually turn to online shopping because of its easy accessibility and convenience in ordering products. eBay is one of the major sites that brought online shopping to the mainstream and now there are many buyers satisfying their needs and sellers making extra income.

The number of frequent sellers has grown so much that eBay has had to make a category that separates these successful sellers from ordinary sellers. These sellers are known as PowerSellers and buyers are a lot more comfortable in buying from them because of their excellent products and service. They also have special perks as well, including reseller benefits.

To the average work at home mom, becoming a PowerSeller may seem like a nearly impossible feat that takes a lot of technical knowhow and marketing knowledge to earn the mark. Actually, being a PowerSeller isn't so hard and can be achieved if you combine perseverance with these three techniques.

Keep your Starting Bids Low

One of the requirements that need to be met in becoming a PowerSeller is that you need to have a monthly income of around $1000 for the lowest rank. This can take some time to achieve especially if you are getting started and it may seem that setting low starting bids won't do you any good in the long run. But if your product really has appeal and you do the necessary advertising, people will start to bid and the value will keep going up which usually ends with the value's true worth. Adding reserve bids can hinder that, so try to avoid them.

Open up all the Payment Options

As a seller, you should give more consideration to your buyers by giving them the most convenience when it comes to them buying your products. This means accepting any forms of payment so that you reach out to all potential buyers. There are a lot of people out there that do not like paying through their credit cards because of the associated fees. The more options that you have, the more sales you will make which is necessary in getting you to that PowerSeller position.

Prioritize Customer Support

In addition to the sales requirement, eBay requires you to maintain at least a 98% feedback rating. This means that you must impress your buyers by describing your products clearly to avoid too many questions on their side. If any questions arise, you should respond to them promptly and use proper etiquette when necessary. Fulfill any promises and terms that you indicate and you should be getting plenty of positive feedback from happy buyers.

Keep in mind that you won't be a PowerSeller overnight if you practice these three techniques with your first products. You need to keep the selling consistent and slowly build your customer base. When you do that, you'll pick up some momentum and gain more sales especially when you introduce newer products. You should be able to achieve the lowest level of PowerSeller in a couple of months. From there, you can move on to the higher levels by making more sales.
