The first of its kind, Ernst & Young is holding Youth Entrepreneur Workshop for children of the Entrepreneur of the Year winners. The children are all aged from 10 - 18. The primary intention of hosting such an encouraging event is to expose the children to the entrepreneurial environment. This will also serve as a platform for cultural exchanges as the children get to meet other young people from various other countries. This event will last for two days, 8-9 June '2006.
The interactive session will be escorted by Junior Achievement (JA) Europe and the past Entrepreneur of the Year winners. They will aim to introduce the children to the world of business. Spanning for two days, the children will be taught about the various aspects of entrepreneurship. The verbal instructions will be backed by team activities in an attempt to reinforce the idea. All the age-specific sessions will be conducted in English.
The opening session on 8th June of the Ernst & Young Youth Entrepreneur Workshops 2006 will include lessons on generating pioneering and inventive ideas that will be conducted in an attractive and amusing format. The main program session will be differentiated based on age groups. For ages 10 - 12, the program will consist of training about Global Marketplace and the key aspects of global economy. It will focus on teaching trade methods, business and cultural practices around the world, the impact of technology in world business, currency conversion and related issues.
For ages 13 - 15, the program will include "It's My Business", that teaches entrepreneurship with the help of inventive activities. They get to partake in journal writing experiences to strengthen the entrepreneurial perceptions that are being taught. For ages 16 - 18, the program will include "Titan" (Web Based Solution). The participants are taught the basic concepts that are required to operate a business. They get to know how a company fixes it prices, settles on manufacture, markets the products, raises working capital, and carries out study for product enhancement through a series of hand-on activities and volunteer led arrangements. For all the age groups, there is a competition at the end of the presentation where the winner is declared based on performance and creative ideas.
The closing session of the Ernst & Young Youth Entrepreneur Workshop 2006 will be an awards and acknowledgment ceremony to commemorate the accomplishments of all the contestants. It also aims to recognize the inherent skills of the winners. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams and a token gift will be given to all the enthusiastic participants. The Ernst & Young Youth Entrepreneur Workshop 2006 is the first of its kind, and sets an example of how the Big Four firms give outstanding attention to nurture the future entrepreneurs from the very foundation.
