Rules For Winners Part II

By Eric Fields

7. Learn from your mistakes- Everyone makes mistakes. Mistakes are okay as long as you learn from them. Some people make the same mistakes over and over again. Their life is just going around in circles. If you want to win, you must not be one of those people who never learn from their mistakes. So when you mess up, assume responsibility and learn from it.

8. Focus on what's important- If it doesn't matter, who cares. Too many people focus on things that have no impact on their life. For instance, celebrity gossip, what does it matter to you about who is dating who. If it is not aiding you in winning it is a waste of time.

9. Track your progress- Monitor how things are going. You must know if you are getting ahead or not. Are your efforts helping you win or are they helping you lose. You must be honest with yourself and not sugar coat things. Either your winning or your not.

10. Conserve your energy- Don't waste your energy on useless things. You will need your energy to help you win. If you waste your energy on useless things, you will not have any energy for when you really need it.

11. Know when to cut your losses- Never stay aboard a sinking ship, unless you want to sink with it. You must know when it is time to call it quits and limit your losses. A major part of winning is knowing how and when to lose. Another major part of winning is knowing how to limit your losses.
No one wins 100 percent of the time, so you must be prepared for wins and losses.

12. Learn to ride out the slumps- Nothing is ever going to go your way 100 percent of the time. Learn how to ride out the rough times and you will be fine. When you can effectively manage bad times you are winning. Most people quit during tough times but little do they know that slumps can be a blessing in disguise. No one is perfect but if you have enough desire and persistence you can achieve anything you want.
