There are literally dozens of job portals catering to every conceivable job niche, and yet the task of searching and getting that perfect job is quite elusive. The reasons are numerous and fall across a broad spectrum, such as fit, geography, money, education, family, employer, and you know the rest. Now, consider if you were tasked with actually building your own job portal that would attempt to match job seekers with employers to create the ideal fit, or at least one close to it, how would you go about doing so? First, you’d gather information about the perspective job seeker, such as name, education, employment history, and just about everything that goes into a typical resume. Second, you would get information about the perspective employer, such as job description, salary, location, etc… Now that you have collated this information into a single database, you can start matching job seeker and employer. If you attempt to do so manually, you’ll find that this could be quite a time consuming task, so in most likelihood, you’d hire some math geeks to develop an algorithm – which is just a fancy mathematical term for a step by step procedure to solving generally complex problems that would otherwise would not be able lend themselves to a solution using a mathematical equation. Just ignore all that gobbledygook in the last sentence, and think of it instead as an automated solution to finding a match between job seekers and employers. After extensive trial and error you’ll realize that you need a bit more information from both parties to tailor a perfect match. Hence, the job seeker will need to designate some preferences, such as minimum salary they are willing to accept, locations that they are willing to move to, and whether they are looking for a full-time position or part-time. On the other hand, the employer would similarly need to designate their own requirements and constraints, such as salary, location, and type of position. Now, our algorithm can hone on finding the perfect match.

That in a nutshell is what we have done at T-Rex Jobs.com. To elaborate, once our algorithm determines a match based on employer’s requirements and job seeker’s profile and preferences as well as a percentage designation that allows the employer to narrow the candidate based on skills, education and so forth, the job seeker will receive an email notification inviting them to apply for the job using our portal. Hence, we have not only made it easier to match job seekers with job opening that fit their profiles and preferences, but just as important, we have shifted the power of decision to the job seeker. Thus, the job seeker is the one deciding on which job openings to pursue and which ones to ignore. Moreover, we are continually honing our algorithm in order to find the best matches that satisfy both job seeker and employer. For more information, visit our site at T-Rex Jobs.com. Furthermore, we suggest that you fill out a profile and take it for a test drive, which is the best way to measure the merits of our job portal.
