While every state in the nation seems to have some strange and funny laws in their history, Illinois may certainly have some of the strangest and most unusual. Here are some of the laws that can still be found on the books in Illinois, including some about what language you are supposed to speak!

If you are dining in a facility in the state of Illinois and it catches fire, you should leave immediately. It is illegal to eat in Illinois in a location that is on fire.

Whether Fido likes it or not, keep him away from the whiskey. It is illegal to give your dog whiskey in Illinois, and can result in a penalty.

While Illinois is not generally home to a giraffe, should you come across one, avoid going fishing while sitting on its neck. It is forbidden, and can get you in a lot of trouble.

And finally we have what is probably the strangest and funniest law in Illinois that is definitely disregarded by almost all of the population. In Illinois, it is against the law and forbidden to speak the English language!
