The Mark 1L is a light, shoulder fired 6-shot launcher with lengthened 140mm chambers as against the regular 105mm chambers of the Mark 1S. The additional 35mm chamber in this third generation launcher enables this weapon to fire an extended variety of ammunition for different applications. The max effective range of the MGL Mark 1L is 375 metres and its ammo can be fired in fast succession of six rounds in less than 3 seconds. Nearly all explosive 40mm ammo has got fuses which arm only after the grenade has safely passed the operator, (a distance of 15-31m, though some versions were produced with only 6m fuse for house-to-house combat) preventing unwanted 'accidents'. This setting can be changed however,, (still, be careful not to screw up ) .
