In the northwestern portion of El Paso County, north of the Colorado Springs homes area, lies the Town of Monument. The Monument homes for sale Monument is a part of the Tri-Lakes property area. The Tri-Lakes area is named after the Monument, Woodmoor and Palmer lakes. The Tri-Lakes property community encompasses other communities including Larkspur, USAF Academy, Gleneagle, and the Black Forest. Top View Ridge, Pine Hills, and Red Rock Ranch are just some of the communitys located in Monument. This historical city has an altitude of loosely 7000 feet above sea level, which is higher than the encompassing communitys of Colorado Springs and Denver.

The Santa Fe Trail runs thru the City of Monument. Monument Rock is located in the Monument Open Space Preserve. The Rock is a component of the Santa Fe Trailhead. There are trails around the rock for horseback riding, jogging, walking your dog, and hiking. Monument Lake is located in this property area backs to The Monument property community backs to the Pike Countrywide Forest. The Pike State Forest has many trails to explore.

It is loosely a ten minute drive, or six miles to the north gate of the USAF Academy. The City of Palmer Lake is located to the north. Palmer Lake has many trails and parks to enjoy and a museum. The Woodmoor Pines Golfing and private club are located in the Woodmoor property community.

Commuting
The Front Range Express ( FREX ) bus serves the Monument Park and Ride near the Monument exit to assist with your commuting needs. The USAF Academy is located six miles to the south of Monument. Many commuters live in the Tri-Lakes property community.

Jackson Creek offers state chain store shopping, small retail and service oriented companies, with a selection of restaurants.

Castle Rock sits just twenty minutes north of Monument. A factory outlet mall with brand name stores stores is a fave shopping place for Colorado Springs and Denver residents, as well as residents in between the two locations. .
