Volkswagen Beetle is the best selling car of the Europe. It offers affordable style and is a fun to drive car produced by Volkswagen in 1998. It has been a familiar sight in UK since then. It is a stylish piece of retro-design and many buyers prefer it over the Mini.
The VW Beetle has the most recognisable car shape. It is easy to guess a Beetle from far off. The curvy roof shape that has been kept for the soft-top gives the
Volkswagen a great look when the hood's up. The car was redesigned in 2006 and the revisions included sharper edges for the bumpers and wheel-arches with redesigned headlights.
The car’s interior has a number of painted metal surfaces that add to the retro feel. The cabin is superb, with a three-spoke wheel, single instrument pod and stylish good looking dashboard. The three spoke steering wheel shares an attractive and good-to-the-touch Beetle-exclusive pixel trim with the gear knob, handbrake grip and parts of the dashboard.
Practicality is one area where the car needs lot of improvement. Headroom is great for those in the front, and two adults can sit in the back in relative comfort. Legroom in the back seats is fine. However, getting in and out of the rear of the Beetle would be a bit of struggle, despite the wide doors and the fact the front seats tip up and forwards.
The engine options available with
Volkswagen Beetle include four petrol engines and one diesel engine. For petrol, the choices are 75bhp 1.4-litre, 102bhp 1.6-litre, 115bhp 2-litre, and 150bhp 1.8-litre turbo. Whereas the diesel one offers 105bhp 1.9-litre TDI. The Beetle’s running cost tends to be slightly higher than the Golf due to higher car insurance ratings.
The VW Beetle is manufactured to last. It has been finished extremely well. The Beetle comes with seat height adjustment and two way adjustable steering. Every model has electric windows all round and heated mirrors.
