BearingPoint Partners With Google For New Solutions Group

BearingPoint recently announced an agreement with Google to deliver search solutions to major enterprise customers, becoming the first Big4 firm to offer this kind of innovative service.
Google's powerful functionality in locating relevant documents is well known. However, this ap pears to be the first time a consulting firm is working with Google to bring this capability to complex enterprise environments.

With this, companies can institute customized search technology for specific business environments. Industries which seem ripe for such services include pharmaceuticals, banking, brokerage, high-tech and aerospace.
Big4 firms have extensive experience in installing third-party software such as SAP, Oracle and JD Edwards with capabilities to customize generic software into specific client solutions. With this new development, companies can use Big4 consultants to install Google enterprise search. The economics of this new model seem attractive to both parties. To date, other Big 4 firms have not announced such practices.

"We are enthusiastic about providing the marketplace with our new suite of solutions for Google's search products and see a tremendous opportunity to address a significant and growing sector," said Harry You, CEO, BearingPoint. "Search technology is rapidly becoming a critical application in today's business environment and BearingPoint is committed to developing the products, services and partners that keep us at the forefront of the information technology landscape."

"Google's enterprise business more than doubled in 2005, and we look forward to continued success in 2006," said Dave Girouard, general manager, Google Enterprise. "As companies realize that search is critical to global business, we're pleased that BearingPoint is delivering the integration services, application plug-ins, and on-the-ground expertise that customers are demanding."

You continued, "Enterprise users expect the same level of functionality, simplicity and ease-of-use in the enterprise that they experience as consumers on the Internet. This is part of a shift we call consumerization of the enterprise and Google search products are at the leading edge of this trend."
