What type of car is Audi Q7?
The Audi Q7 is a full-sized performance SUV that optimises the Quattro all-wheel drive for safe, yet powerful, driving. The Audi Q7 is well-built, has a slick drive and a clever three-row seating system. It is notably comfortable to drive, with a unique driving performance that sets the benchmark for driving safety, both on the road and on rough terrain.
Interior and Exterior
The
Audi Q7 is surely bigger than any other Audi grille before it. A lower front bumper with fog lamps stretches the Q7’s face downwards, in a similar way to that of the Porsche Cayenne, albeit with far better results.
It's an
Audi, so there are few surprises as to how the cabin looks. There are plenty of sober grey tactile plastics, which are pleasant to the touch, and a smattering of silver trimmings. Some models feature wood inserts too. A colour screen is the focal point of the dash, and is controlled by Audi’s MMI, which is similar in concept, but better in execution than BMW’s iDrive.
Ride
The Audi Q7 is among the best in its class for ride comfort and handling. The ride is smooth, but there’s not much bodyroll through bends (another rarity in cars of this size).
Running Cost
Owning a car like this is never going to be a cheap experience, but the Q7 doesn't disgrace itself. It's predicted to keep a respectable hold of its value and is priced fairly in comparison with its rivals. The diesel option is obviously the most affordable in terms of running costs and will hold a bigger percentage of its value over time. The V12 TDI is only for those with deep pockets.
Estimated fuel cost for 10,000 miles/year: - £2000 to £2550 the estimated fuel cost figure is designed to give you a rough idea of how much this model will cost to fuel each year, so you can compare between cars.
Insurance & Road Tax
Insurance group range 16E - 18E and 279g/km (Tax band G, £400).
Audi Q7 Selling Point
The main selling point of the Q7 V12 TDI is its engine. But it also features some other upgrades over the normal car. Powerful ceramic brakes are standard, which is handy. Also the car gets a redesigned, more aggressive front end, 20-inch alloys and Xenon headlamps with LED-strip daytime running lights.
