It's an accepted scientific fact amongst many health researchers that within those countries where fish is a large part of the daily diet, diseases of the heart are much less frequent.

This has seen more and more of us taking a daily omega3 dose, whether via a dietary supplement or eating more fatty fish like salmon and tuna. That's hardly surprising given the fact that there's so much good news out there concerning the numerous health benefits to be gained. They include such areas as your vision, brain, heart, skin, your immune system and even expectant mothers.

Even such worthy organizations like the American Heart Association have lent their weight to the subject of fish oils. They are suggesting that everyone who has a vested interest in keeping their heart healthy should consume around 900mg of fish oil a day.

That's often a confusing point for people, knowing how much to take, as anyone who takes an omega3 dose wants to be reassured that it's sufficient, so your body takes full advantage of all the nutrients. Take too little and you could be minimizing those health advantages. However, a note of caution as the quality and purity of products varies widely, and often price is no benchmark.

The best fish oils to look for will contain an ample amount of both DHA and EPA as a combined dose, and is usually given as an amount in mg on the bottle. Briefly, the more DHA you can get for you money the better, as this is hailed as being one of the best ingredients.

But, before you roll your eyes in despair and think this is all too much to look for and sort out, my main site has links to places where you can easily make those cost comparisons. That way you can be a much better informed consumer knowing you're getting the right omega3 dose.

Peter Foremski is an avid researcher into the benefits of taking fish oils. On his fish oils site he shares that information freely on how to find the most effective brands to keep you healthy, fitter and living a fuller life.
