I'm a bit of a computer expert, but I don't usually tackle problems with the Windows registry. Many software vendors recommend that you modify your registry during troubleshooting of an application. While it can be done, fixing computer problems like the Windows registry takes a lot of experience. Otherwise you could be faced with disastrous results.

The way to fix your slow or misbehaving PC is to scan and clean your registry with one of the many fine registry cleaner programs on the market today. When you run one of these programs, it will remind you of a virus scanner; except it is not looking for viruses, it is looking for invalid or incorrect entries in the Windows registry.

So what is this registry? Simply speaking, it is just a data file filled with all of the settings of your computer and its software. When you install a program, it makes changes in the registry; same if your un-install a program, it takes the registry entries out. Fixing computer problems and errors sometimes means simply correcting the invalid or corrupted registry entries.

After the program scan your PC, you will be presented with a menu to take action of what the program found. You can select to have the invalid registry entries fixed automatically. You should then restart your computer - and you will notice that it will run much faster, without the lockups. Try one of these registry scanners - fixing computer problems has never been easier or faster, and you don't need to hire your own expert technician to do it.

Don't trust your PC to registry cleaners that don't work! We tested the best - read our reviews.
