With the economic recession, chances are you might not be traveling like you used to. Not as many people are booking extended holiday trips. It is one thing that people are cutting to get by. However, a good holiday can do a look for our health. It is good to relax, get a way from our usual routine, and regroup. This does not mean that you have to do it for 2 weeks. Instead, take a weekend trip. A short break will still allow you to take that much needed break. Although you may not be able to go and travel through Europe, you can visit some great areas in our home country of Britain.

Two of my favorite places that I have been recently are Devon and Cornwall. Of all the places to go on a short weekend trip, they may be the perfect choice. Both places seem to offer the perfect options for a traveler, no matter who you are. One of the reasons for this is their location. They are both situated in the beautiful coastline of England. No matter where you stay, it will be beautiful. For me, that was the appeal. It was so nice to just relax and enjoy the beauty of the area.

When you go to both of these areas, you will find that there is so much to do. Whether you lie on the beach, visit national parks, shop, or site see, there is something for everyone. And, if you are traveling with your kids, the areas have great theme parks and zoos. A lot of people have been known to visit these areas and surf or build sandcastles - either way they are spending the day on some of the best beaches in Europe.

When you are not on the beach or experiencing the areas great attractions, there are many great dining options. Because both cities are located on the coastline, there is a lot of great seafood to eat. Also, they are famous for their beef and lamb.

As you can see, Devon and Cornwall are great destinations for your next getaway. Even if it is only a couple of days, plan your trip to one of the areas. Both are great for families or that weekend romantic getaway that you have been waiting for. And, although you may wish you had 2 weeks to spend on holiday, 3 days in Devon and Cornwall will leave you feeling refreshed and reenergized.
