Without reference to who you are, where you reside, how long you have been a Christian, or what you do for a job, you have been lured. And, you can be lured again, potentially even today. Let's stop and ask a crucial query : what's temptation? Quite simply, it is to take a God-given need beyond our God-given bounds. You will say, "God-given desire? There's no way this wish came from God!"
Rodney Howard Browne asks us something : Who made you? Who built into you those drives and needs that you feel? The longings for food, intimacy, and relations all come straight from God. The issues come when we take these wishes outside the boundaries that God has set for us. As an example, He made sex for pleasure within marriage. However, this God-given wish is horribly misused when the physical act of sex occurs outside of matrimony.
Then, something that God designed for His purposes becomes the source of guilt and shame. That's not what God intended.
You may occasionally feel in the beck and call of your enticement. However, I would like you to know those feelings of enticements are just that: feelings. They can be controlled, refused, and refocused into some other healthy activity.
God has promised us that he will not desert us in the middle of enticement, irrespective of how alone we may feel. When you are feeling the pressure to sin, call on the Lord to refocus your energies and attention back where He wants them to be.
