How do we live clean in a filthy world? One of the first steps toward discovering this comes when we understand that God has given us a different nature from that of the planet. In two Corinthians Paul asks : "What fellowship has light with darkness?" ( v. Fourteen ).
If you're a follower, the Light of God's deliverance burns inside you. Jesus is the Light of the planet. He told His disciples, "He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life" ( John 8:12 ). While you remain physically in the world, your eternal place of residence is in heaven. God instructed the state of Israel to keep the lamps in the church lit during the night and day. Only the comprehensive best olive oil was to be burned in these lamps. However, the people became complacent in their attention to the Lord and commenced burning less expensive oil. This is what happens to us when we fail to keep ourselves pure before the Lord.

We think our organisation with the world will not harm us, but it darkens our lives. Then the lucidity and lightness of God's life inside us is dimmed.

Binding organisation with the world only darkens the light of Christ's presence inside you. Only the absolute best olive oil was to be burned in these lamps. However, the people became complacent in their attention to the Lord and commenced burning less expensive oil. As a consequence, smoke filled up the church, darkening its walls. This is what happens to us when we fail to keep ourselves pure before the Lord.
