A car that is stylish, has enough space for a family of four, is fuel-efficient, has low maintenance cost, and one that would fetch good resale value five years down the line. You have options available at a budget ranging as low as Rs. 2 lakhs to as high as Rs. 15 lakhs and above across various segments. Segment D cars are those which are available at below Rs. 5 lakhs. This segment was being predominantly ruled by the Tata and Maruti. Segment B, that ranges between Rs. 10 laks to Rs. 15 lakhs, is primarily dominated by the diesel cars like Scoda Octavia, Toyota Camry and Toyota Corolla. Recently launched Chevrolet Optra Magnum and Optra Platinum have further helped heat up the competition.Segment A ranging from Rs. 15 lakhs and above, however, is ruled by Daimler Chrysler, and with the launch of its M Class its has further strengthened its position in this segment.
