Distraction. Here's the thing Internet Marketers have to contend with....the damn Internet. It's tough. You join a safe list, and you think to yourself that you want to increase traffic, etc. But what do you have to do in order to earn your credits for your safe list? You have to surf. This requires time, just about 10 or 15 seconds for each website in order to earn your credits. But more than that, it can distract you, especially if you're anything like me.
So you're cruising along, surfing the stuff they send you. But then, you get CAUGHT. Something looks good, too good to pass up, you must find out more, right NOW. And so on, and so on.
Let me tell you something. People who want to market on the Internet often really believe it when people tell them that they can make them rich overnight. The lure is so powerful, you can end up flitting from one thing to the next, ever disappointed when you didn't push a button and get stinking rich. Do NOT let this happen to you. Do you know what will happen at the end of 6 months, or a year of doing this? You will end up on the short end of the money stick. Why? because you failed to concentrate your energies.
The Internet is chock-full of opportunities, offers, STUFF. It can be so hard to stay focused. I still fall victim to this. You're looking at one thing, end up on another page, sign up for some stuff, and forget which thing it even was. Because, for every tactic out there for advertising, there is someone selling an easier way to do it. So, you're out there looking for legitimate information, and what you end up doing is dissipating your energy and focus to the point that you are completely ineffective.
So, I say this. Do ONE thing. Promote ONE product. Start there, and build. Choose your product; be it acne medication, weight loss pills, libido enhancers or dog leashes. Promote that offer with every advertising resource you can think of. Make sure you use every tool out there. Keep a list and check each thing off as you go. Then, go back and perfect each step. Make sure you did it right, and completely.
When you are done doing that, lather, rinse and repeat. What I mean by that is, for every step you took, you could probably take one more in that vein to improve your presence.
Then, and only then, go ahead and look for more opportunities, more products, etc. How can you promote another product when you haven't achieved success with the first? Do it right once, and you have a blueprint to do it the second time.
That said, sometime you just get a loser. And at this point, you should move on. Some folks say that after 500 clicks with no conversions, they shove off. Others say 1000. This is so fluid, because each click comes from different sources, it's a whole-nother discussion. But still, you should set limits, and bail out of a loser before you've spent too much time or money. This an important and personal decision.
But DON'T... I mean DO NOT bail out of an opportunity or product because you think that some other way might be easier. It isn't. They just have a good sales page. Take notes babe.
