A relationship that is kept a secret can be exhilarating in the beginning, but then it can also weigh you down keeping this secret. You may have genuine reasons for not letting anyone know about your secret relationship, but at some point, the trouble of keeping this secret can damage the relationship and you have to pick whether to keep the secret or let the relationship be known.
One of the main purposes for having a secret relationship with a person is because you agonize about what others may feel. You should show to everyone that you make your own choices and that you are proud of the way you feel. Having your secret relationship out in the open is you being true to yourself and your significant other.
