The human body is a wonderful thing. For the staggering complexity of it, the times something goes wrong with us is thankfully pretty rare in the scheme of things.
However, of course there are many things that can affect us, some of them regularly, and for women especially one of the most uncomfortable is a yeast infection. No, they are not life threatening, but certainly miserable, painful, and irritating.
If you are suffering from a yeast infection there are several remedies available to you that will help alleviate the condition, and very likely stop it recurring. You may be unaware that in all probability you are unwittingly feeding your infection. If you stop doing that you will deprive it if it's ability to grow, and it will soon recede.
What I am talking about here is the amount of sugar in our modern diet. We probably all eat far too much sugar, and yeast just loves it, and thrives on it. It's no coincidence that we are these days seeing almost an epidemic of diabetes and yeast infections.
There is an extraordinary amount of sugar in the many processed foods that we eat, of course food manufacturers use it because it's cheap, it has preservative qualities, and imparts flavour to otherwise bland foodstuffs. We need to reduce the amount of sugar we consume each day.
Of course sugar is a natural substance found in many fruits and vegetables and the body needs sugar for energy. However we are talking about processed foods using refined sugar here. In medieval times and before we obtained all the natural sugar we needed from our daily diet. The refined sugars that we consume today are hundreds of times more concentrated, they throw our bodies out of balance and cause many of the problems we have today, with yeast infections for just one example.
So we need to remove as much refined sugar from our diet, and replace it with the natural sugars found in fruit and vegetables. These by the way should be eaten raw whenever possible. Train yourself to stop putting sugar in your coffee and tea, and any other beverage that you would normally put sugar in.
Don't sprinkle sugar on your breakfast cereal, avoid candy for the poison it is. If you can't cut it out completely to start with (sugar can be very addictive) then cut down gradually to the point where you are taking no refined sugar. You may even surprise yourself by enjoyng the taste of your food more.
The other reason refined sugar is so bad for us is, that it is surpisingly acidic. Yeast thrives in an acidic environment, thus making us prone to yeast infection. Consuming the amount of sugar that the average person does on a regular basis is providing the ideal conditions for them.
We can combat this by eating more alkaline foods. I'm not going to give you a list here, there are many of them and you only have to do a quick search online to find them. Again, try to eat them raw when at all possible.
These simple tips will soon have your yeast infection consigned to the past, and it won't have cost you much to do it.
