Forget buying flash drives or external hard drives. If you're an iPod owner, you can use your mp3 player to store 20, 30, 40, or even 60 gigabytes of Word documents, PDF files, PowerPoint presentations, or any other data file.
If you run Windows, plug in your iPod and go to My Computer. Find the iPod icon and double-click it. You can now copy/paste or drag files directly into the folder, or you can create a new folder (for example, "My Files") and place your files in there.
Mac users, connect your iPod and open up iTunes. Go to Preferences and click the iPod button. Select "Enable disk use." Now the iPod icon will appear on your desktop and you can drag and drop files into it. Don't forget to eject the iPod before you disconnect it.
Finally, experience the luxury of carrying tons of computer files AND thousands of songs, all in your pants pocket.
