Bhalei Mata also known as Bhader Kali Maa is a manifestation of the Hindu Mother Goddess or Durga. The words "maa" and "mata" are commonly used in India for "mother", and thus are often used in connection with Bhalei Mata. Bhader Kali Temple is a very popular Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu Goddess, located at Chamba within the Indian state of Himachal Pardesh. It is very beautiful temple. The temple can be approached either from Chamba or from Dalhousie and is at a distance of 40 kilometers from Chamba and 35 kilometers from Dalhousie. Several pilgrims from all over the world come to visit Bhadar Kali. .Bhalei Mata temple was built by Raja Pratap Singh in 18th century when he was the king of Chamba. Pilgrims from all over the world come to visit Bhadar Kali. A big “Havan” ceremony during Navratras of Ashwin and Chait months. Kali Maa blackness symbolizes Her comprehensive nature, as in black all colors merge. Just as all colors disappear in black, so all names and forms disappear in Her. Black can also represent the absence of color, signifying the nature of Kali as ultimate reality. Kali comes from the Sanskrit root word “Kaal” which means time. And nothing escapes from time.
