A great tool I found today is friend or follow, it allows you to list all those twitter users that are not returning your follow.

Twitter has a limit on the number of user you can follow at any one time, so its always good to trim out non followers.

Article Alley continues to do well on Alexa, I like the changes that Alexa has made recently, their new interface is clean and fresh, and they seem to have learnt how to better monetize.

Our progress is pleasing and we are really starting to gain on our competitors, three years ago, we led the field, but now we are having to work hard just to catch back up.

Our new features such as video and tags are really helping, and there are more new features due for launch soon.

Increased traffic for Article Alley means more visitors for our authors and more exposure for their work, so this is great news all around.

Another new feature on Alexa is greater information on links - this is helpful as we can now spot more of what our competitors are doing and work to improve on this ourselves.

Article Alley now appears on Twitterholic this is another twitter traffic style site - these are popping like crazy at the moment - I must admit that I have bought a domain myself Tweatings.com and am thinking of creating a tool myself. For now though i will be content with just blogging about Twitter.

Since Google has tied up with Twitter the future of Tweaking seems secure.

A great site that I have been meaning to blog about for a while is bizshark, Article Alley has a listing here its a very slick stats aggregator - the design is really smooth - it picks up information from all the usual places, Alexa, Compete plus Linkedin and others.

Its really cool and a great place to check all your own stats in one go.

Quarkbase.com is a good site summary provider, our listing can be found here like several of these sorts of sites it draws information from a range of places but pulls them together in a logical and professional report format.

I like the layout and format of this site - its nice to use and overall pretty slick.

We have changed our chitika ads today to a new style - they look better and fit more closely with our look and feel - earnings are very slightly better - but we like this new style a lot more so we think we will stick with them for now.

Chitika has been a success for Article Alley so these ads will be added to our network sites during April and May.

We just implemented 6 new ad panels on the right hand side of this blog, as traffic grows we are hoping to run paid ads in theses spaces, but for now we are happy to use a couple of affliates and adverts for our own network of sites.

A little more work is need to polish off this area, but you can already see the results.

Google announced its quarterly results earlier today.

Google reported a rise in profits in the first quarter as it saw the benefits of a shift to online advertising from traditional media. Google reported that its online advertising rose 17 per cent in the first quarter from a year earlier.

Shows just how strong Google is as a company and the potential of the internet to grow and sustain quality advertising sites. Its amazing that Google is still able to grow albeit at a slower rate, in the UK we have seen a big decline in advertising activities across the board.

We have had a good experience with both Google’s adwords and adsense programs and strongly recommend them both to authors who are not yet signed up.

Yesterday we received our 850,000th article!

Little Feet, Lots To Know was submitted by Dr. Jennifer Feeny our 141,650th author.

Before you ask why aren’t there 850,000 articles live on Article Alley - remember that a lot of articles fail to meet our editorial standards and we run a network of sites not just Article Alley so niche content often appears on sites other than AA.

Anyways another big milestone for us will be Article 1,000,000 - which at the current rate of progress will be sometime in the early summer.

We are getting more and more involved with Twitter now - its a great way to grow your traffic, and so many twitter users match our profile that its hard to imagine the potential of this area.

What we try to do is give all our followers a follow back - its a sort of professional courtesy
