We have been finding it really hard to keep up with all the great articles that our authors send through each day.  But the good news is that our team has expanded with the recruitment of Suzanne, which takes us up to 4 full time editors.

With her help we have cleared the backlog of submissions and emails that was starting to mount up, and the good news is that we are completely up to date as of 25th September.

Users have been asking why our home page appears to be behind the rest of the site, its due to the surge in submissions we have seen over the last month, as of yesterday we doubled the rotation speed in an attempt to bring it back up to date.

Our development team is working on a flexible rotation system that will vary the rotation speed each day based on approved submissions from the previous day - for now please bear with us, we are up to date its just the home page is lagging.

Yesterday saw article 950,000 go live on Article Alley, we don’t list all the articles that get submitted, and currently only about 55% get approved. But nevertheless thats a lot of articles and a lot of work by our authors.

We expect that the 1,000,000th Article will be live this month.  We are still thinking of something special to mark that event.  More about that soon.

We are running 48 hours behind at the moment, this had dropped down to 7 days behind at the beginning of the week, but we have got it down.

Authors are always asking us about how quickly we approve articles, we always work hard to keep on top of things, but we are seeing surges of submissions which keeps us very busy.

This week we crossed another milestone 900,000 articles have been submitted to Article Alley since 2004, that is a lot of articles and represents 100,000’s of hours of time from our loyal authors.

We are already looking forward to our big milestone of 1,000,000 articles and will be doing something special for that maybe a prize or some other promotion.

The volume of article submission is rising steadily and we are already recruiting another full time editor to join our team.

Yesterday we received our 850,000th article!

Before you ask why aren’t there 850,000 articles live on Article Alley - remember that a lot of articles fail to meet our editorial standards and we run a network of sites not just Article Alley so niche content often appears on sites other than AA.

Anyways another big milestone for us will be Article 1,000,000 - which at the current rate of progress will be sometime in the early summer.

We often get asked how best to maximise the benefits of submitting articles to Article Alley. The better the quality of the article submitted the better are its chances of getting re-used by our publisher partners. So write the best articles you can! Good grammar, correct spelling, useful interesting unique content.

A good article reflects well on the site where it appears, so webmasters not surprisingly tend to filter articles and only use the best ones on their own sites.

Once you have submitted an article to ArticleAlley, link to it from your own website, blog or forum. Links like these help to improve the importance of articles to the search engines, which will improve their visibility on the search engines, improving again the changes of articles being re-used.

We offer an RSS feed for every author, if you can use this on your site using and RSS reader, than as new articles are added your site will automatically update.

Another helpful approach is to ask questions about your articles on Yedda this brings exposure. Lastly at the footer of every article are social bookmarketing icons - use these to book mark your articles, which will again give them a boost.
