Just realised that my twitter account has been compromised - seems like the last 30 posts have been inserted as advertising has flooded in - it could be that one of the third party applications I use is the source, just to be sure I have changed the password and deleted the trash.

It would happen just when I was busy on some other projects and not watching my twitter account, anyways at least its sorted now.

Found another cool Twitter application - tweetmeme! I am a bit doubtful of that domain name, it looks as it tweetme wasn’t free so that had to go for meme.  Anyways our listing can be found here

Tweetmeme is a service which aggregates all the popular links on twitter to determine which links are popular. Tweetmeme is able to categorize these links into categories and subcategories, making it easy to filter out the noise to find what your interested in.

What is also cool about this site is that it has a trends section showing which twitter tools are the most popular.

 We have been tweating away over the last few months and our twitter count is now on its way up.  We now have 573 followers.

If any of our authors follow us, we almost always follow back, so sign up and get onto twitter.  Twitter is growing at a fantastic rate and its tie up with Google is only going to increase its value as a traffic source.

Looking at Twittercounter this ranks us as within the top 50,001 twitter users.

I blogged about twittercounter a few weeks ago, its a great tool and I really enjoy using it to monitor our progress on Twitter, assuming their stats are accurate we are already within the top 55,000 twitter accounts. Which is good progress considering we have only been tweating since March 2009!

A great tool I found today is friend or follow, it allows you to list all those twitter users that are not returning your follow.

Twitter has a limit on the number of user you can follow at any one time, so its always good to trim out non followers.

Article Alley now appears on Twitterholic this is another twitter traffic style site - these are popping like crazy at the moment - I must admit that I have bought a domain myself Tweatings.com and am thinking of creating a tool myself. For now though i will be content with just blogging about Twitter.

Since Google has tied up with Twitter the future of Tweaking seems secure.

We are getting more and more involved with Twitter now - its a great way to grow your traffic, and so many twitter users match our profile that its hard to imagine the potential of this area.

What we try to do is give all our followers a follow back - its a sort of professional courtesy

Anyways.. Twitter is cool and fun if nothing else.

Been looking at Twitterstats its a great little tool that allows you to display your number of twitter followers in a little box on your site.

Article Alley has a page on Twitterstats its a good site and our coder will add this to Article Alley’s blog in the next week or so.

Interestingly they currently charge $499 a week to become a featured user and plan to increase that as we get more traffic and users. Twittercounter currently tracks 1.5 million usernames and generate 20.000+ pageviews a day. The featured user is displayed on all pages at TwitterCounter

We have been actively tweating over the last month or so and are please to see that our number of followers on twitter is starting to move in the right direction.

We have already made some friends via Twitter which makes it worthwhile alone, but better still we have been picking up new authors who are discovering the benefits of Article Alley having arrived via our twitter profile.

Twitter is growing at a huge rate and is rapidly becoming the place to social network. We have some catching up to do - but we are on it now!

We have gone from zero followers at Xmas to 180 now which is a very good start, our custom design has made our twitter profile much more attractive, we are also pleased to hear of new ideas and suggestions coming from our twitter followers - it really is the cutting edge of things - its exciting being part of it.
