If we recycled more we can save landfill, thus reducing the need to find new sites.<br /> <br /> Paper which we take for granted, originally came from ancient China, and was made from rag fibers in 105 AD. and is currently recycled on a large scale, this of course enables us to use less new timber, which has a knock on effect of saving energy, as recycled paper takes less energy than starting from wood pulp.<br /> <br /> The world's consumption of paper has more than doubled over the years and makes up nearly a third of household waste.
