Volvo could not compromise on safety for the 3CC thus it developed the unique 'Volvo safety ride down concept' to absorb collision forces in a frontal impact by controlling the forward motion of the occupants.<br /><br /> <br /><br /> For crash safety, engineers have designed the instrument panel, steering column, and seating in the Volvo 3CC to move forward as far as eight inches in an accident.
