When setting up an office, it is almost impossible to find a company that can supply you with absolutely everything you need. Most times you will find yourself going from one place to the next and then back to the first place you went to in the beginning. It really is a mission. Recently my boss decided that it was time to "spruce" up our offices. My biggest mission was to find new office accessories and hunt down some sort of screen mountings for our new and trendy flat screen televisions that were to be installed in the waiting area. Of course we had the old type television arm dating back to the year dot, but those had to go.
I learned a great deal while shopping for accessories and wall mountings. Mostly that not just any arm or mounting can support any television. Apparently the size and weight of your television need to be taken into account and then there are factors such as where you want to display the television, from what angle and how high. All these things I had never even given a second thought!
I also discovered that LCD monitor arms (such as LCD flat screens for the computer) can be either desk mounted or wall mounted and that these can be fixed straight, able to move from side to side or up and down and even adjusted to swivel. Up until this point I had been accustomed to my normal computer monitor sitting like a blob in one position only on my desk. This type of mounting would allow for me and other employees to work at the desk from any position.
Furthermore, I learned that plasma and LCD television screen mountings have the option to be fitted to a display stand or tv unit, dangle from the corner of a room, display flat against the wall, or even be able to swivel to different angles and positions from a point on the wall. Most of these mountings are adjustable and make for easy installation and visability from anywhere in the room!
Now our office looks fantastic and modern and my general DIY and maintenance knowledge has greatly increased! Thanks to Howlo for everything and great service!
