The Nokia N82, released in November of 2007, is a part of Nokia's Nseries line of smart phones. The Nseries line of smart phones features the N-Gage gaming platform as well as the Nokia Music store.

The Nokia N82 also features a 5 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, making for both high-quality photos and videos. The photos and videos look great on the 2.4" LCD QVCA TFT color display with up to 16.7 million colors. With its Xenon flash that uses new algorithms, this camera phone far outperforms its competitors in night photography. Also, video capture can be done at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels at an amazing 30 frames per second. The Nokia N82 can capture up to 110 minutes of video or 290 pictures on a single charge.

It also has integrated Bluetooth technology, built in Wi-Fi and GPS. It also has 100MB of internal dynamic memory for messages, videos, pictures, ringtones and the like. For additional memory, it has a microSD memory card slot.

The call quality on the Nokia N82 is also very good, providing crisp and clear sound even in crowded areas. Talk time is up to 260 min and standby time is up to 225 hours. It weighs in at 114 g, with a volume of 90 cc. Its dimensions are 112 mm x 50.2 mm x 17.3 mm.

Being a higher end phone, the hardware on the Nokia N82 does not seem to fit the price. Navigation can be difficult for some users, as the dial pad and controls are jammed too close together. Another drawback is that it does not support U.S. 3G bands.

The Nokia N82, while a bit lacking in the hardware feel department, delivers. Most of the drawbacks are nothing more the mere annoyances. The pluses, on the other hand, are very concrete. It is a powerful multimedia device that has great photo and video options.

Pros

* An amazing high-end device that rarely freezes
* 5.0 megapixel camera with excellent photo and video capture capabilities
* High resolution display
* Excellent reception
* Integrated Bluetooth technology
* Top-notch Wi-Fi connectivity

* Some users find the controls hard to use
* Does not support US 3G bands

Overall

The Nokia N82 is a great camera phone! If not for the price, it would be at the top in the league. The phone provides great call quality in addition to the incredible photo and video options. If you don't mind the price tag, you have no reason to miss this great phone.Diane Benham is the author of articles such as Nokia N82, Nokia Cell Phone Reviews, and Cell Phone Reviews.
