2009 Ford Focus Review: Entry Level Is Better Than You Think

By: Anna | Posted: 09th November 2009

The 2009 Ford Focus is one of those vehicles that are in an interim period as far as its car design. Ford brought out the new body style for the 2008 model year to mixed reviews from the critics. Now, with the introduction of the Ford Focus 2009 we see changes to the already redesigned car with the introduction of the coupe instead of the hatchback.

So let's Ford Focus 2009 review what our expert car have had to say about the 2009 Ford Focus. From a style perspective the general opinion is that the new Focus falls short in the looks category, however it is also widely accepted that it redeems itself in its interior design. The performance of the 2009 Ford Focus is what you would expect from this and previous generation models-adequate, but not sporty. Another note: the brake feel has been compared to that of an SUV, not exactly a flattering comparison. This same lackluster feeling is found in the safety department because Ford has seemingly opted to keep prices down by skimping out on some of the safety features found on other vehicles in its class; more specifically the non-standard traction control and ABS.

It may sound like we are being pretty hard on the 2009 Ford Focus; so let's hit some of the high points. The features offered on the Focus are what set it apart from the competition with available SYNC, power moon roof, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and quirky ambient lighting option. The SYNC feature is on par or better than systems that are in much more expensive Mercedes', BMWs and Lexus'.
