The Low Country of South Carolina is comprised of quiet waterways, the laughter of residents and visitors, Gullah culture and resort locations, assorted entertainment options and much history. And whether it is time spent in Hilton Head, Bluffton, Walterboro, Daufuskie Island or
Beaufort, South Carolina
is the ideal vacation location for guest of every age, interest or individual.

After all, you can spend a day practicing your swing at PGA Tour Tournament locations like the Harbour Town Golf Links or the Palmetto Hall Plantation Club and then relax that evening on a dinner cruise on Colibogue Sound.
Or perhaps, the kids are along for this trip and you want something especially for them. Then why not spend a day at The Sandbox with its hands on exhibits that encourage interaction. The Sandbox is a 2 story building with play areas that focus on activities such as banking, grocery shopping, visiting a World Bazaar, the No Fishing Allowed Aquarium, and many other unique and kid-friendly activities. Of course, there are an assortment of miniature golf courses, the Island Recreation Center at the North End or the day programs in art, sea life, sports and more at The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn.

If you are in the mood for outdoor activity then the South Carolina Low Country offers miles of hiking paths and trails that twist and turn along quiet salt marshes, through beautiful nature preserves, and along the beach. If you prefer to move a bit faster, then you can both rent a bike and traverse some of the over 50 miles of interconnected bike trails.

There are historic locations such as the Sheldon Church, Stoney-Baynard Ruins, Botany Bay Plantation, the Heyward House and many other buildings that are open to the public and can be explored with or without a tour guide. If you enjoy learning about history through museum exhibits then be sure to check out Penn Center with its impressive displays, historic archives and documentation of the Gullah culture and achievements by African-Americans, The Heritage Library Foundation or the Coastal Discovery Museum.

The SC Low Country is also home to an assortment of performing art venues. You can see dramas, comedies, and Broadway-style theatre productions at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, the Hilton Head Community Theatre, the SC Repertory Company, and the May River Theatre. Or for music and dance check the Bluffton School of Dance, the Hilton Head Shore Notes, the Jazz Lover of the Low Country series, or the Voices of El Shaddai.

There are many other fantastic vacation activities in the Low Country of South Carolina, so plan on having plenty to do, having a lot of fun and making many fantastic memories during your stay. After all, when you are enjoying the activities and attractions of the coastline there is plenty of entertainment to go around.
