Vehicle which hired the great Northgate plc has chosen Mercedes-Benz—German brand for automobiles, trucks, coaches, buses, auto parts and accessories like the Mercedes Benz belts which include Mercedes seat belt ---for a fleet of Vito vans amounting to £1.1 million after it has entered into a venture with Stelios, founder of easyGroup.

Northgate has started providing vans for rental from 88 UK locations through easyCar.com on a pilot basis a year ago. The number of bookings received by Northgate has made it realized that there is a huge potential for a dedicated van rental offering and that’s when easyVan.com was created.

easyVan,com is easy to use and provide customers with low cost vans for hire with a choice of five vehicle sizes that can be used for various activities like moving house, transporting large or heavy items or undertaking DIY projects. The first vehicles to bear the corporate name of easyVan.com are the 80 long-bodied Mercedes Vito 109CDIs and five of these vans have already completed a UK tour to promote easyVan. The convoy has visited major cities around the country covering a total of 10,000 miles.

The 80 Mercedes-Benz vans join the fleet of vehicles which will be used by easyVan customers to have access across Northgate’s network of locations. According to Nick Skillman, Business Development Director at Northgate, “we placed the first major order for dedicated easyVans with Mercedes-Benz because of the high standard of its vehicles. The Vito is a first-rate product; comfortable, easy to drive, and with a high standard specification, as well as relatively compact dimensions – it’s the ‘Harrods’ of panel vans if you like. All of these factors will enhance its appeal to potential customers.” He also added, “We enjoy an excellent working relationship wit hthe team at Mercedes-Benz headquarters. This has developed over a number of years, and we are extremely pleased now to be strengthening our relationship further with our large vehicles order and with the ongoing involvement of Mercedes-Benz in the supply of vans to easyVan.com.”
