Some States in the US have already required car owners to equip cars with a catalytic converter(or as others referred to as “catcon”) to answer the call for lower emission vehicles, without having to own a Hybrid. Catalytic Converters were first introduced in 1975 to comply with Us Environmental Agency's (EPA) regulation on automobiles exhaust system.
Honda Accord was introduced the following year in 1976. The first design of the Accord was changed to become more fuel efficient and have a lower vehicle, following regulations due to the fuel crisis in 1970s. And the cars were done to meet the emission standards at that time, even without the use of catalytic converters.
