Electronic Medical Records, It's About Time

Paper has long been an important invention for the human race. It has been used for centuries and is still being used today. Even now when information is being transferred from paper to digital, it is still just as important as it was when it was first invented.

How trustworthy is paper when comparing it to technology? Paper has no built in security devices; paper will not drive someone to fill it out in the exact format, once a piece of paper is filled out with pen, there is no going back on what has been written.. Believe it or not, the healthcare industry is still using paper instead of technology to record vital information. The key? Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and Medical Practice Management Software

Congress has been working to allow interoperability between medical practices and hospitals to allow them to easily and quickly transfer medical records. An emr system is being worked out so that no matter where a hospital receives its emr software, all emr systems will be able to function with one another to allow the transfer of crucial information.

Most software already has voice recognition capabilities that will utterly remove the need for transcription of your dictations. It should be advantageous to a business to be able to detect where their consumers come into contact with the majority of holdups in their system. Once a problem area is identified a solution to make it enhanced can be a reached thus making the entire process easier to navigate. Patients become happier and less time is wasted when implementing this. The right EMR software makes available ways to follow that type of significant information and can lead you to practical and productive solutions.

EMR Software runs off of a tablet PC which give the doctor the option of carrying it into a patient's room. Using this software a doctor will be able to fill a prescription order from his tablet pc so that it is ready to go as soon as the patient leaves his office. That alone is a feature sure to make an impact on any patient. This modern technology will help to label any office as a forward thinking, technologically advanced practice.

Are there problems with the software? It would be a lie to say no. The normal problems that occur often with technology exist. And it will require additional training for employees to learn how to run the EMR software. And these systems are still fairly new and so are not completely bug free.

But when weighing the positives and negatives of changing to an Electronic Medical Record system remember that people, particularly patients, find comfort in knowing that their doctor is a forward thinking person. A patient who sees their doctor walk-in with a tablet PC containing files of information to aid in their diagnosis is more likely to give that doctor their confidence. And a doctor who has no patient confidence has no patients.

Medical Practice Management Software will drive the medical field into tomorrow. Jump on the train with ChartLogic’s user friendly emr system today. Go now to request a free demo CD of EMR software. Rachel Grover is an independent writer for ioVentures, Inc.
