Turkey is a country that has rich culture in all kinds of aspects. Each region in Turkey has different culture. The cultures in most of the cities are almost the same with the western countries. The people that live near to the coastal areas earn middle range income. In the city, both men and women work to bring in income, just like in the western country. In the country sides, the father is responsible for bringing in the income while the mother will work as housewife.
The Turkish music features folk music from Central Asia including Arabic, Persian and Graeco Roman. Turkey is rich in classic music and folk music. Sezen Aksu is the most influential singer in Turkey. Instruments that are used in Turkish music include cymbals, bass, bells, and percussion instruments.
Turkish literature are written in the Turkish language. Most of the literatures are composed in Ottoman form. The primary streams of the Turkish literature include poetry and prose.
The architecture of the building in the first Ottoman period is influenced by the Ottoman art. The domed architecture is derived from the Bursa period. During the reign of Ahmed III, Turkey had good relationship with France. As a result, many ancient buildings from that period feature baroque and rococo style.
The hospitality of the Turkish people can be traced back to the nomadic origins. During those days, the local people are kind to the strangers. When they see a stranger, they will offer them food. This feature is visible throughout the cities in Turkey. The lifestyle of the people that live in the rural area are more conservative compared with the city dwellers.
Turkish people have strong family ties. In the country side, three generations of family will live together. However, this is rarer in the city. In Turkey culture, all family members have to cooperate together and make contribution to the family. In addition, the family members will sit down to eat the three meals together every day.
