A recent study estimated that 76 million Free Birthday eCards will be sent this year. The eCard industry has grown exponentially and could soon take over the multi billion dollar greetings card industry.
This growth has been attributed to a couple of factors. These are:

2. There are millions of different designs and animations which give free birthday ecards an advantage over conventional greetings cards because there is more choice available.
3. Unlimited storage. Unlike greetings cards, free birthday ecards can be stored in your inbox. Your email inbox can store thousands of e-cards so you don't have to worry about deleting them.
4. Advancement in technology. This factor will fuel the e-card industry the most in the future. Advancements in technology such as text to speech and voice recordings add an extra touch of personalisation - a feature missing from physical birthday ecards.
