Choosing targeted keywords that are specific to your chosen market must be the first step when preparing for search engine optimization.
Fortunately, there are a number of places that you can use to research possible keywords for your chosen market.

Once you have compiled your targeted list of keywords that best match your chosen market you are ready to begin optimizing your website for higher search engine rankings and hence greater organic search engine traffic. Keywords with a bigger search volume and low competition, should be your goal
Without question the two most essential uses of your keywords for search engine optimization is on and off page optimization.
On-page optimization - Make one post or web page per keyword, therefore creating a new keyword targeted article or web page for each keyword on your list. Avoid stuffing your pages with just keywords, one should target a keyword density of between 1 and 2 percent per article.
Off page - using your keywords when submitting to directories, taking part in link exchanges and article submissions is probably one of the best search engine optimization strategies there is.
1. When adding your website to online directories try and include your main keyword in the title.
2. You can request a keyword-targeted backlink to other web site owners when performing link exchange, but some web sites may in pose some limitations.
3. When you submit your articles you can include a keyword targeted backlink to your website giving you better control of the keywords you use, and the page you link to.
These may be just some of the basics when it comes to optimizing your website, but remember, your advanced search engine optimization efforts may be wasted if you get the basics wrong.
