The new facelifted 2007 Isuzu Rodeo with its top-of-the-line Isuzu catalytic converter is offered in range-topping Denver Max LE trim that comes with the standard Prodrive Performance Pack which increases power from 136 to 167 PS.

The first deliveries of the Denver Max LE were made last June of this year. The Max LE offers the ultimate in pickup luxury at a price that buyers can afford.

The offered price excluding VAT for the Denver Max LE is £19,999 in manual form with standard equipment that includes a Prodrive Performance Pack and 18 inches Shadow Chrome alloy wheels with 255/60 Pirelli Scorpion Zero tyres. It is also equipped with leather seats and door inserts, a tough load-line, an LE mesh grille, and a new branded LE hard top.

Other features include a DVD, satellite navigation system with touchscreen plus a high-tech Bluetooth kit, air-conditioning, ,four electric windows, leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless-entry and selectable 4WD or 2WD at speeds of up to 60mph. There is also a soft-type front A-bar, chrome side steps, rear step bumper, rear light guards and brushed steel door entry guards.

The Prodrive Performance Pack is a wonderful feature since it increases the power of the 2.5 liter turbo-diesel engine from 136PS to 167PS at the same 3,600 rpm. It also amplifies the torque from 217lb-ft at 1,800 rpm to 292.8 lb-ft at 2,200 rpm. All these figures help in improving the mid-range acceleration and throttle response making the standard Rodeo’s 3,000kg brake towing ability less strenuous.

The Rodeo can reach a top speed of 102.5mph however the 0 to 62 mph that takes previously 12.8 seconds was down to 11.7 seconds. And although there are still no official fuel consumption figures available, Isuzu already expects that same returns to the class-leading standard model which has record 28.8, 39.8, and 24.9 mpg on the Urban/Extra Urban and Combined cycles.

Extra power and performance are achieved through a reprogrammed Electronic Control Unit which uprates fuel supply and at the same time alters the ignition timing. And since turbo boost is not affected, the engine strain is not increased enabling the Isuzu (UK) Limited to include the PPP under its usual three year/60,000mile warranty. And due to the Rodeos clean and efficient engine combustion systems, its service intervals is rather long at 12,000 miles of which include an oil change.

The Rodeo was first launched last April and has been widely praised for its refined and punchy new common-rail diesel engine, stylish new front design, highly improved ride comfort, and a classy new interior. The prices for the three model range starts at £13,990 for the Rodeo, with the mid-range Rodeo Denver Max costing £15,990 (both OTR but excluding VAT).
