There are some essential steps you need to take to avoid you becoming another statistic and joining the 93% of people who fail in network marketing. These next 5 steps, if followed correctly, will put you head and shoulders above all other MLM Opportunity seekers out there.
Step 1 � Commit to doing your research FIRST.
This is by far the most important step there is and is normally the one the vast majority of MLM opportunity seekers completely miss. I can't stress just how important this is. Starting a home based business is a major decision and should never be taken hastily or without due care.
Commit to spending 5-10 hours researching companies that look suitable for your needs. Try and get a shortlist of companies that appeal to you before moving on to the next step. This one simple tip will not only greatly increase your level of success but can quite literally save you thousands of wasted dollars, years of frustration, avoid being scammed and most importantly quitting.
Step 2 � Is there a demand for the product?
Take your shortlist of MLM Opportunities and then apply this additional criterion against each one. Look at the products the company promotes and ask yourself do they meet the needs of a hot and hungry market. A company could have the very best product or service but without a huge demand it matters little, as they have no one to sell it to. You need products that people will want regardless of whether there is a business opportunity associated with it.
A common mistake people make is they get emotionally attached to a product or service and they completely miss the point there may not even be a market for it. If there is no market then there is little chance to make sales.
Step 3 � Use a Keyword tool
The fastest way to conduct your research is to investigate online. Use a tool such as http://www.goodkeywords.com to see how many people are actually searching for any particular product or service in a given month. If your research shows only 1,000 people are searching for a product, it would be a waste of time for you to join a network marketing company that sells it. However, if you see searches for 30,000, 50,000, 100,000 or even more, you are on the right track!
Step 4 - Check out the competition
You have determined there is a demand for your product so now you need to assess the level of competition. Uses the online search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN and identify which are the top 10 companies listed. If the first 10 are the same company, it's not good. If you find a multitude of different companies selling the similar products and services then you can be assured there is a good demand for it.
Step 5 � Look at the sponsored ads in Google
Conduct a Google search of your chosen companies company name and products. How many sponsored ads are showing and are they all actually for your company. If there are ads there using your companies name but promoting other opportunities that will confirm there are plenty of people searching for your company as your competitors are trying to distract your customers.
To be really vigilant make a note of all the ads and check them every week for a couple of weeks. If the same ads continue to appear then it means the ads are profitable which confirms that customers are actually buying.
