
Chrysler Group's Dodge division introduces the all-new Dodge Journey crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV). Dodge said this model will answer the needs of the drivers all over the world. The vehicle will be available as a 2009 model in the first quarter of 2008.

The all-new Dodge Journey embodies the exterior styling of Dodge models with aggressive stance and muscular exterior design cues. Exterior highlights of the 2009 Dodge Journey include the signature Dodge crosshair chrome grille, quad halogen headlamps, horizontal aluminum hood, long daylight opening. low-gloss black appliques on the B- and C-pillars, high-contrast black roof rack with buffed stainless steel roof rails, LED center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL), lightweight liftgate with integrated spoiler, chrome-tipped dual exhausts, and 19-inch wheels wrapped with performance tires. Customers can also install Weathertech vent visor for additional appeal. In addition, the Dodge Journey will offer several exterior colors including Inferno Red Crystal Pearl Coat, Light Sandstone Metallic Clear Coat, Melbourne Green Pearl Coat, Deep Water Blue Pearl Coat, Silver Steel Metallic Clear Coat, Bright Silver Metallic Clear Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat and Stone White Clear Coat.
Moving inside, the Dodge Journey offers a spacious, comfortable, flexible, and practical interior. The vehicle somes with a 5+2-passenger seating with other features like Flip 'N Stow(TM) in-seat storage, child presenter seat, integrated child booster seats, Tip 'N Slide(TM) second-row seats, and 50/50-split-folding third-row seat. For the interior's design, the Dodge Journey comes in with a two-tone color scheme with high-contrast dark and light colors. Moreover, three types of seat upholstery are also offered like cloth, YES Essentials stain-resistant odor-resistant anti-static seat fabric, and leather. Other interior features include MyGIG(TM) multimedia audio and entertainment system, available UConnect(TM) hands-free communication system with BlueTooth cellular phones, Chill Zone(TM) cooled beverage storage bin, and available ParkView(TM) Rear Backup Camera.
Of course, the Dodge Journey also features a host of active and passive safety equipments to protect its occupants. These features include the advanced multi-stage front air bags, low-risk deployment air bags, front seat-mounted side air bags, supplemental side air bag inflatable curtains with extended up time, structural driver and front passenger knee bolsters, Anti-lock brakes (ABS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Brake Assist, Traction Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM), and Side Guard Door Beams in front and rear doors.
The all-new 2009 Dodge Journey comes in three model trims: SE, SXT and R/T. The 2.4-liter World Engine is standard for all models, and will be combined with a standard four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual gearbox. Dodge Journey R/T and R/T AWD models feature a standard 3.5-liter V-6 engine. A 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine is also with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transaxle.
Chrysler Group did not yet release the manufacturer's suggested retail price for the Dodge Journey.
